How do I change the key of a song without changing the tempo?
The tool resamples the audio to move the pitch, then time-stretches it back to the original speed. The two steps cancel out in duration, so only the key changes while the BPM stays the same.
How many semitones can I transpose?
From -12 to +12 — a full octave in either direction. Small moves of 1 to 3 semitones sound the most natural; larger shifts are great for creative edits but change the character of vocals noticeably.
How does the semitone shift map to the Camelot wheel?
One semitone up equals +7 steps on the Camelot wheel: 8A becomes 3A, 8B becomes 3B. Select your track's source key and the tool shows the target key for any shift automatically.
Will changing the key affect audio quality?
Shifts of a few semitones are close to transparent on most material. The further you move, the more processing artifacts appear, especially on vocals — so export lossless (WAV or FLAC) when you plan further editing.
